All cars sold in the US after 96 were OBD2. I think the first year for the Type R was 96, because they only kept the bugeyed front end in JDMland for two years before that, and there are no bugeyed JDM Rs.
But yeah, 97 was the first year in NA. They were delayed in some port from February to June 97. It was assumed it was for emissions reasons. I dont know if the US had the same delay.

they wer produced for the Japanese market starting in 1996 (to be precise they were made in late 1995, but they are 1996 model year vehicles still).
US market got the ITR for the 1997 Model Year.

I think 96' in JDM land
94-95's in JDM land looked like 94-97' Integras in USDM land as already stated
-Id be interested in knowing what models were sold in japan in 94' and 95'

yep 97 first an best year
There are a few 97s that aren't going to be that slow.

Try dynoing yur 97...i've seen dyno charts of 96-spec itrs that look more like the factory charts from a 98-spec. Honda i think has a reputation for making small changes within model years, maybe they were improving the engine porting before it became official '98spec'.

I'd actually say 98 was the slowest year. added some weight but otherwise about the same motor..

Steve will be dynoing it tomorrow.
I'm not sure how far he will be turning up the boost during the tuning session, but I'm sure it will be 15-17 psi.
