Default door lock broken... opps

ok so i locked my dumb self out of my car. not to worry, i did it a few weeks back and watched the triple a man open it and saw his tool. so i made one out of a coat hanger. 4 minutes later im in my car again . bad part is now the door wont lock. the button moves but even int he lock position its not locked. should i take it apart? or is it something more easy.

Take the door panel off and see if any of the door rods are disconnected.

Do you have a pick tool? I use that all the time and never use the "proper" door handle remover.

Just straighten out a paper clip, then bend one end into a small "hook" shape. Should be able to pull that clip right out without much trouble....

i've always just used a screw driver & never had trouble, just pull the handle out some & look down between the handle & the door & you should see the clip. hth

how did you get the seatbelt off is yours on the door.......Not just the seatbelt mechanism behind the door panel but the entire seatbelt assembly from where it is up on the top corner of the door without cutting the seatbelt ofcourse
