i would like the HT family to help me out in a big way. i need to know some more details on how to go about welding the holes behind the moldings. i took of Aracersgirl's moldings and decided to weld them after hearing a lot of negative feedback about filling them with bondo in somebody else's topic. all i need are some more details in the procedure because i do not want to "f" this up! thanx peeps!
the guy who did it to my car had to weld the holes from the outside and inside to fill in those holes also they have those plastic things behind em also so i think you have to shave em or somethin like that and the guy who did mine said it was a bitch to sand them down smooth(on the outside)

i have heard of some people using a sheet of metal behind the door and then filling with bondo on the outside, but i have not seen anybody weld inside and outside. sounds like welding inside the door would be very difficult.
are there any other ideas or methods?

here is my little 2 cent. On my car i cut sheet metal to flush the groove of the old molding. Then i just dermix tube to glue it on (Strong as welding without future rust that goes alone with welding). Then use druaglass, then bondo. THats a little brief and i left a lot of steps out. If you need any more help im me.
Here a pic of my civic with nsx air vent and shave molding fresh out of my body shop when i drove it home. Hood lol
camera
Stock rims lol
. Would take some more pic when my motor is install.

when you welded it in, did the door warp? Some of the cars that i did before when i welded it in warps b/c of such a large area and hot temp...and that's only tack welding!!!. As far as rust goes, just do a good job covering the area has bare metal. peace
