type r intake manifold on a b18a1 or b18b
i want to get type r intake manifold on my b18b/b18a1 and i was jsut wondering what other part would i need beside the intake manifold and the throttle body.
there's no point to it. you already have a single runner intake, and its tunned to give you max hp&torque. if anything get a skunk2 oe victorx manifold.
Beside's it won't fit, the Type R IM will only fit a B16. The bolt patterns not the same. Got with the Skunk2 IM, they run about under 300.00....
yea sry i was talkin about the skunk2 type-r like intake manifold or something like that. would like AEM fuel rail, cold air intake, and what throttle would i need to use the stock or a new aftermarket one? would they fit and is there anything else i could do as basic bolt on to get like 20-30 hp more
What are your current mods? How high are you revving?
I almost went with a modified ITR manifold for my LS. I decided that a portmatched/bored stock LS manifold would be best for my application since I won't be revving past 7500 - maybe 8000 on occasion.
You will in fact lose some low end torque with the larger plenum and shorter runners of the ITR manifold.
Post your mods, maybe we can help out more afterwards.

well no mod yet but the first is going to be type-r fuel rail, type-r throttle body, and intake manifold. my mechanic and fellow team member say it should give about 10hp extra and a much stronger fuel management.

the fuel rail wont do ****. the throttle body might not even mount up. save your money and have your tb bored and your intake manifold bored and polished. with out doing any other mods you wont see much of an increase of hp. your still using the restrictive head and valves.

aem intake, greddy header, exhaust well, thats up to you realy. also things like a good port&polish job goes a long way. cams, valve train, pistons can be done later.

Theres a guy with a 12.4 second all motor b20 powered civic running an ITR manifold on an LS head. You have to drill some holes and do some cutting, etc, but you can make it work. I've heard of a couple other people doing it too.
