do I have to change clutch if I put gsr tranny on ls engine??
I have a chance to get a gsr tranny for around 300, I have a 92 ls and I have a clutchmasters stage 1 clutch on it. Will I have to change my clutch if I change to the gsr tranny.
thanks

First off, dont use open polls, I can gaurantee it there will be atleast 4 different variations of "smoke weed everyday" on there, and maybe, if your lucky, an "I fucked your mom", so just stay away from them.
Anywho, I think you do, I think ls, gs, rs, all those clutches are interchangable, but the GSR is specific to GSR's. I could be wrong, but I just wanted to let you know about the open polls.

Ohh, and BTW, if you plan on going turbo, you should probably keep your tranny, the turbo guys seem to prefer them, I think its b/c they have longer gears.

you will have to use a gsr clutch. the gsr trans's input shaft has more splines then the non-vtec's. get a gsr clutch and pressure plate and throw a lightweight flywheel on there too.
So the GSR's input shaft has more splines than the LS tranny eh? I dont know about that cuz i have a B17 with what i thought was a YS1 GSR tranny...so i went out and bought a 92-93 GSR clutch for it. I dropped it all in and after going on the freeway i find out i have an LS tranny. So i DONT think there is a difference in 92-93 GSR or LS transmission splines. My question is are the 90-91 Integra clutches different from the 92-93 ones?

there's definatly a difference. cause when i blew my trans i got a b18a transmission. it was different splin count. i had a 92-93 trans and my car was a 91. had to get a different clutch.
you sure someone didnt switch final drives on the trans you got? thats not uncommon.

ok, heres what i got from a.c.t. 90-91 is different from 92-01's. there all the same splin's from 92 on up. there's minor differences for the g3 gsr's and type r's but they all use the same release and pilot bearings and alignment tools. so my earlier statement was wrong. sorry bout that.

Same spline count on all 90+ Integras (24 splines) but the 92+ is a larger size. Release bearings changed in when they went from cable to hydraulic.
