Default battery power issues..please help

Background info = i have a 92 gsr

OK earlier today i put in a new distributor coil because the old one got broken while fixing it a week or so ago..Also changed a broken distributor rotor

so my tech guy comes over and realizes that the battery is also very close to being dead, and not enough power to start the car. So he jumps it, and Voi-la, it works. I drive it for about half an hour, than park it for a couple hours. while i pack for new york..( roughly 8 pm)

@11pm i go out to get in my car and leave, and i put the key in the ignition, turn, and not a single light comes on. Not the seatbelt, hte check engine, anything. None of the lights work, nothing. SO i assume the battery is dead. I get my dad to help me jump it, some of the bezell lights come on, but my selt belt motors don't seem to have enough power to even move the belts forward. I can just hear them makin noises but nothing moving.

so in a nutshell, I know the battery is low, but even with a jump it didn't have enough power to start. It doesn't even get to the point where it can turn over. Its just those rapid clicks.

please help a fellow h-t member

Make sure your battery terminals are clean and that the jumper cables are making good contact with the batteries.

did both of those things....it seems like the power either isn't there, or is getting drained by something else

any idea?

Got anything that doesn't turn off when you think it's off? Like an amp or a light or something?

But more likely, the battery won't hold a charge. After jump-starting & running so it's charged, measure the voltage (tell us what it is). Then turn it off & disconnect the battery cables. Now there's no possible way for anything to be turned on that you don't know about. If it still goes dead, you need a new battery.

How old is your altenator? It sounds like your battery isnt being charged and your altenator may be bad.
