Default intake

I know this has been convered before, but I am new to this. I was wondering what is the best intake for the R. What is everyone here using in your car and how do you like it? I dont plan on doing any drag racing, I do plan on doing some autocrossing in the future, but nothing to serious. What I am looking for is something with a good sound, but I rather have it generate more power. I can only spend around 300 maybe more, school is coming up and I am looking at getting something else to for it. I was thinking about a comptech or aem? Thanks for the help.

AEM, Comptech, or Injen are what most people use, with the first severely outweighing the scales...followed in 2nd by the comptech....

Has anyone dynoed just a K&N filter vs. a CAI? Just wonder how much of the cold air hp is due to a less restrictive filter.

Also, with the AEM, do you have to cut it to get the bypass valve on?

As for your second question: Yes, you must cut the intake to install the bypass valve, which is why I didn't install mine
