I need a little tranny help.
Today, my tranny started making whining noises when I would depress the clutch in and shift into gears and it was hard to shift also. It would not make noise when I was cruising in gear, nor when I would depress the clutch while in neutral. It go me home, but not without a struggle. So I was messing with it tonight checking the fluid and adjusting the clutch to several different positions but to no avail. Now the stupid thing wont even go into gear.
The clutch, p/p (Exedy) and throwout bearing are brand new with less than 20k miles on them and the tranny was 75% rebuilt in that same time frame.
Any ideas?

Sounds like it is the TOB (throw-out bearing).
Reason being is because when you push on the clutch the TOB presses on the clutch plate while it's spinning. But when in gear, the TOB is back with the clutch fork.

Damn, your on the ball. 26.4k connection owns me.
Yea, thats what I was leaning toward too. I would have thought that it would have lasted longer than 19k though. I guess I am going to have to tear apart the bottom end and replace the piston rings.

lol. browsing on T3 and typing quick owns me
It's sad to see it's lasted that long, but the TOB isn't hard to replace, just a bitch to get there

Here's what I ran into,
1. The return spring for the throwout bearing is broken into 2 places.
2. The disc has a 1" chunk broken off and is cracked in 3 other places.
Oh well.
