i am receiving my DC SS 4-2-1 header in a couple of days and it will be my 1st install of a header. wondering if u guys can give me some do's and dont's and things to watch out for thanks
Don't flip around the exhaust mani gasket it won't line up, make sure you let you car cool off. If it is a 2 piece it is a gravy install. Hell even if it is a 1 piece its still not bad at all.
buy a new gasket for connecting the header to the cat.
Make sure you have a good wrench for loosening the bolts, or at least a deep socket, as a standard socket will get about half of the nut, and round it off really fast.
Otherwise, just take your time and be careful, don't want a car falling on you b/c of a careless mistake.
Be ready to wire your o2 sensor, you will have to extend the wire so the sensor will reach pretty much all the way back to the cat.
I did it in about 1 hour and 15 min. DC sports SS 1 piece. Just using hand tools and i jack.
Good luck, and hit me up if you have any specific questions as I just did this 4 days ago.
