Me an my buddie have conflticin info on JDM SiR sunroofs, if it was even an option and genuine EF CR's and Civic hatches i have seen many front clips but all of them that i have seen for a CR dont have sunroof but i am not to sure about the hatch anyone know that is 100% SURE if it was an option or it was not an option on the 88-91 Si-R's? if anyone know post it and let me know cuz this issue is killing us

 

All the glass roof's that I have come in contact with came out of CRXs from japan.

Glass roofs or glass moonroof or steel sunroof?
JDM or USDM or any where in the world?
Si, 1.5x, or SiR?

i basicaly want to know if a sunroof was an option on Si-r's or if it came on all or didnt come on any, i know about the glass top but thats for the exclusive im wondering about a regular sunroof like the one on the usdm crx si

As far as I know the glass top was an option in Japan only.
Might've had to buy specific trim level.
I don't think it was exclusive to the "Exclusive" and the "Limited Edition"
I have never seen a glass panel moonroof CRX anywhere in the world
except as an aftermarket add on.
As for a USDM type steel sunroof, I know it was available in some CRX's
in Japan and Europe. Whether it was available as an option or you had
to buy a certain trim level like you did here I'm not sure.
I will have to check. I have a ton of EDM,JDM litureature.

Sorry, it's not online.
It's hard copies of emails from friends abroad and articles and
brochures I have collected over the years.
I have them all in a big box, I really should organize one of these days.
Like I said, I'll go through them and find out what I can.

USDM CRX - Si came with metal panel sunroof. HF/DX came with nothing, some ppl did add small glass popups to theirs however.

USDM Hatchback - Si came with glass moonroof, all others had nothing.

JDM CRX - SiR had the glass roof as an option I believe, it is NOT a sunroof/moveable roof of any type. I don't know of any other CRX's worldwide that had this as an option. It's very expensive, and very pointless in my opinion, unless you're going for the full-on JDM conversion.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this stuff - just wanted to put it up and make it

The only JDM CRX SiR's that I have come accross either have the full glass roof or the metal roof (Like mine)with no sunroof. I opted for the metal roof 5 years ago when I bought mine cause I did not want the hassle of trying to replace a glass roof if it had ever got damaged while I owned the car. It seems now that out of all of the JDM SiR's in the UK the metal roof ones are even more rare and desirable than the glass roof ones.

so then i was right, because i thought that the sunroof deal wasn't an option, and that the only option was the glass top.....

 

JDM Models : 1.5x Models had a plain roof as standard. It was an optional extra to get a glass roof. All Si and SiR models had a glass roof as standard and had an option of an Electric Sunroof.

UK Models : UK models got the Electric Sunroof as standard.
