been a pioneer fan for years. had a tapedeck in my car for 4, never heard a peep of complaint out of it. overall excellent products. intelligently designed and well laid out. sound quality is awesome, albeit a little intense. their head units favor deftones quite a bit (heavy bass with really piercing highs) so watch out for that. as long as you're not shopping for mp3 players i give you a 100% satisfaction reccomendation. their mp3 players have a 2-3 second delay when changing tracks in mp3 mode. that's actually why i bought the alpine cda-9807 over the pioneer premier deh-740mp which i was moments away from laying down the plastic for. hope this reply was helpful and not too long. as for speakers, about the same eq bias. good, but not stellar overall performance. quality is fine. no particular reason to favor their speakers over any other brand unless you like the deftones sound. but sony speakers also sound like that.

Their head units are great, and so are their Premier subwoofers. I had two TS-W1241DVC's in my Tsi and they were the best sounding (SPL and SQ) subwoofers I have ever had the pleasue of owning. They need some serious power to sound good though. I was running 500W RMS to each speaker (250W RMS per voice coil) at 2 Ohms. Awsome product.

To pioneer. Except for the 8400 i've never had any prob's w/ pioneer.

I work tech for BBY and see no less than 5 8400's a month, that damn moving face or the factory amp, or the preamps, or the harness. That model just sucks.

Every piece of audio equipment in my car, except for the box and the wires is Pioneer.

I have no complaints.

I've used Jensen (distortion like no other)
Rockford Fosgate (great bass...)
And Pioneer (best overall sound for a reasonable price)

my friend has some 4 inches in his swift and they sound great, can handle power and cost barely asnything! their radios are great, their AMPS are reliable and nice to use, their subs arent anything special and their PREMIER line of products ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

on a budget, pioneer products can be a life saver!

currently i have had 6x9's, 4's and 6.5's in pioneers in my past cars and all of them sounded great! i have had many pioneer h/u's and i know people with cheap pioneer subs that bounce great, sorry for the long post, one ofg thise nights

Pioneer to me has never been "Top of the line" But to consider the price range that is is in with sony and kenwood (decent) Rockford (amps are okay) and Pioneer comes out near the top. My friend owns pioneers top of the line everything in his car, while I own Alpine top of the line everything and I might be biased but mine sounds about a 8.5 out of ten as opposed to his 7.7. So I would go with pioneer over kenwood, sony, and RF, but I'd choose alpine over pioneer considering that they are close in price.
