well i got the bottom end rebuilt in my h23 and i just got done putting it in... i started it up and i can hear tapping... i got under the car and it seems to be coming from the bottom end... when it was rebuilt they put in all new bairings.. so im not sure what it could be... its not a knock...just a tap or clicking noise... any opinions?

i know you said it was coming from the bottom, but did you do a valve adjustment? are you sure its not a ticking coming from the head?

how far are you in your break-in procedure? Maybe check lubrication the bottom end as well as clearances on the bottom end if you have the block out..

rev your engine up then listen to your block. if the higher the rev the louder the low pitch knock, then it probably is your bearings. if its a tick tick from the valve cover, then its your valves. Did you adjust the valves or not? You could always drain a bit of oil and check it for shavings...

is there anyway you can take a video and post it online? is it a high pitch knock or a low bass sounding knock? did you put lube on the bearings when installing them?

no caant post a video.... its definetly not a knocking... more like a ticking... ill have to ask the shop about lubing the bearings...

the reason it got rebuilt is becuase of broken bairings.. and this sounds nothing like that did

thanks for youlls replies
