Default Power Window Troubles

I am trying to figure out why the power window on the driver's side of my GSR is so clunky. It is not smooth at all. It makes a nice "kachunk" sound when I first lower it and it goes down about 2 inches, even if I just tap the button. It feels like it sticks for a second, then frees up and moves down with a slam.
I sprayed some silicon down the tracks that the edge of the window fits in, but no luck.
Any other suggestions???
I searched for, but was unable to find anything on this. I know it has been discussed before.

ok, i have experenced the same things. Here are a few things you can try.

~~Remove the door panel and locate the bolts that the window motor bolts to. WEll, actually before all this move it up and down with the panel off. It should be obvious at that point that there are a few points that are loose and need a simple tightening. This works for a while, at least until it walks the screws out of the holes again. I think there are like 3 screws or something but its been over 6 months since i messed with it so im not sure.

~~Another solution that is not as simple is to see if the window has come off of its track. Sometimes this happens as well.

Hope all this helped any.

I fiddled around some more, tightened the motor mounting but no luck.
C'mon - I KNOW this has been discussed before.
Also, the window rattles when it is between 1/2 and 2" down or so, but not when fully up or further down.
HELP !

Tekken,

>>There are a few furry felt washer supports holding the window in place.. They >>stabalize the window against the window frame & rails...
Where are these located? Are you talking about the guide pin?
I'm looking at the Service Manual...
Perhaps the center and front channels need adjusting?
I did notice that with the window halfway down, I can push it up from the bottom and it has about 2 inches of free play.
Maybe the center channel guide is worn out?
Argh !

I took off my door panel (driver) and the side of the window closer to the front has a rubber guide but the side closer to the rear of the car has no rubber guide. Is there supposed to be one on both sides of the window? I think the previous owner broke the glass and didn't have it properly fixed.

Blkbeast: Yes, there should be a rubber guide on both the front and back channels.

Anyone else have any ideas about the kachunking window action or rattling glass ?
I tried to tighten, loosen, and adjust everything. Maybe something is just worn out?
Hmmmmmmmmm?????????

I'm going back in!
I noticed after all my "adjusting" that the windows is not even front to back.
I think the problem may be with the regulator/motor gearing interface. The regulator has some play in it at the gear teeth.
Argh this is agravating - I wish I could find the old posts on this...
Any ideas anyone ?

Tekken - what do you mean by adjusting the "pressure plate" that is on the top of the door frame ?
