Default Found a purty GSR, how much could I negotiate the price?

Just found a local GSR for sale for $16,000. Its a 97, just had a new motor put in with 1k miles on it, 3yrs/70k mile warrenty. JDM front end. What he is asking for it is reasonable, but im kinda poor. How much do you think I could get it down, if any?

If youre poor, look for something thats fit your budget. Dont forget to factor the insurance cost.

It all depends on how desperate the owner is to get rid of it... If he/she isn't rushed, they will probably just wait it out.

I wouldn't buy a car that I didn't modify. I think it would have the previous owners personality instead of mine.

Honestly, I would try to get it down to 13-14. Right now, '99's are going for that much. It also depends on how many miles are on the car. Also, besides the ITR front, I wouldn't factor in any of the mods in to the price. good luck.

16k for a 97. pretty pricey. remember the rebuilt motor will not increase your resale value much unless it was done by honda when it comes time to resell. hate people who paint up the whole front bumper with the jdm fronts.

are those the web 97 gsr wheels i see on them. for 16k he better be including some big name wheels too.

or you can always buy my 98 supersonic blue gsr for only $8500. but i'm located in nj.

Ive seen that car around...I remember at first that guy was asking $20k or something absurd.

Its not worth $16k. If I remember right its basically a 97 wit a decent amount of miles and a JDM conversion...definitely not worth $16k. I would offer him $11k and call it a day. There are tons of these cars popping up for sale everywhere, theyre a dime a dozen...I would wait to find a hell of a deal. That is way too much.

$16k can net you an 00R w/JDM front and extras:

Or a 98 GS with JDM front, more mods, JDM B18C, etc...for $12k:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=529645

Theres cars everywhere...thats just not worth it. You can wait and find the same car in a month for $5k less.

The 98 GS has a JDM B18C with less than 15k on it, if I read right. Never mind how much more it has done.

If that guy gets anything more than $12k out of you, he scored bigtime.

I just picked up my 97 LS with 70k on it for 8000.. It came with a 99 GSR trans, spoon sports shift ****, 00 Black leather door panels and center console, and a 99 Si strut bar. I mean its not a GSR but the deal I got is a hell of alot better that that one. Keep looking and you will find something that is superior to that deal. Good luck shopping around man.

No, that was the only pic he provided. 16k does sound like a lot, and I have seen a bunch more integras (a lot turbo), for around 12k. Im just getting tired of driving my broken integra around (rear ended big time, pretty much totalled). If you guys find any good deal, lemme know! The new car has to have either a jdm conversion or a turbo....but would be nice though, lol. Thanks

Well, wouldn't you like to see more pics anyways before you bought it? One pic seems kind of weird.

Thats a very sexy looking GSR, but i wouldn't pay 16k for it. All the mods he has done won't increase the value, instead lower it. And the fact that he had to swap a new motor in there is kinda shady as it is. Picture looks good, but it looks like he may have modded it with photoshop a bit? The glare from the lights look a bit fake to me.

16K for a gsr?

No Way! I would rather get an ITR for that price.

2001 GSR's cost 18k brand new. I wouldnt pay more than 12K for that car. The mods only make the value go down.

Totally. And why would it need a new engine anyway?

I saw this car actively for sale a year ago, you can wonder why it hasnt sold. The guy has been asking way too much. $13k is still too high man, youre spending money on a car you can probably score for $3k less EASY.

These cars go for 10K in CA with all the "JDM Conversion" with paintjobs! 13K IT dosent take 3K to "rebuild" a stock motor!

Do you know of any for sale then? Has to be somewhat local...im willing to drive at least 1 state to get it. I just need a new car bad, and i dont want to be so desperate as to rip myself off.
