how to get scraches out?
ive got about 5000000 small scraches on my car. most of them are just the clear coat and i tried some diferent wax's but i still cant get them out. my car is a little darker than the color of the 50 anaversery corvette. (maroon) i was just wondering if any of you out there knew of any thing that works really well. thanx for any help.
i havent gon over them with a buffer yet i acually have one i should get that out and try that. thanx dose anyone eles have any suggestions. the reason i dont get a new paint job is cus im planing on selling it and getting a new car in like Oct. so i dont wanna blow like 2k on something that im not gunna have for very long.
the millions of little scratches you see, come from electric car washes. You have to remember, when you have a dark colored car, always hand wash it with either a soft bristle brush or cotton wash mit.
To get the scratches out, use a light CUT wax. Apply a fair amount while using a buffer with a FOAM pad (since its a dark color). If its a light color, use a wool pad. Remember to apply pressure on the buffer.

being that are car is the same color..cayenne red ..and i have a million lil scrathes also..last week i used meguilars swirl remove and paint sealant (stage 2) waxed my car with that and was suprised how many lil scratches were gone or coverd up i should say..so after that i used the meguilars carnuba wax (stage 3) and the outcome was amazing...car was shining like it was wet and a loy of scratches were gone afterwards...might help u out also..good luck..
if the scratches are really bad, you will need a fine cut compound and a buffer. However, I think you should first try something easier... Get some Meguiar's Show Car Glaze. Apply it with your random-orbital buffer. It will "fill in" the scratches. Follow with wax. This only works on scratches that are not deep.
btw, only use 100% cotton towels to make sure your towels aren't scratching your paint.
If the scratches went through the clear coat, it's time to get out the touch-up paint.
best of luck.

bleh, meguiars 3 step
The 2nd and 3rd step are very average products at best. You can get much better results for the same cost and effort with different products.

I am not talking about the one in the red bottles. I should have clarified that.
