I purchased a universal 4wire o2 sensor but the color of the wires are different, than the ones on the old one. Which color wire goes to which?

The old one has 2 black wires, 1 green wire, and 1 white wire.

The universal one has 2 white wires, 1 black wire, and 1 grey wire. It is a borg warner universal o2 sensor part #OS703

I am running a OBD1 JDM b18c engine in my EK. My guess is the 2 white wires go to the 2 black wires, the grey wire to the green wire, and the black wire to the white wire. Am I right? I just wanted to make sure before I start. Any other suggestions would be helpful as well. Thanks very much

 

the white wires are the power, the black wire goes to the ECU, and the grey wire is the ground. You need to know which one of your stock wires is the ground and which is the ECU signal. THe two black and white will go together.

he's got it somewhat right. So chop off the connector on your old O2 sensor and crimp or solder it to the universal O2 sensor.

white - black (heater wires)
white - black (heater wires)
gray - green (ground)
black - white (signal)

The 2 white wires are for the heater and don't have a polarity.

Thanks man... thats exactly what I did and it worked great with no CELs.

You mean the sensor does not come with instructions telling you which wire is connected to what?
