Default Turbo problems .....please help

Dear fellow turbo luders,
i have a 2001 prelude sh and just recently installed a garret t3 60-1 turbo with a hondata s200b. my problem is that i could rev my motor at idle to redline, but when i boost...i can't go past 5000 rpm. does anyone know what this problem might be? any help would be greatly appreciated.

well, your secondaries aren't opening for one thing, that might cause a problem

Sounds to me like your Secondary Butterflies are closed and when opened, all of the boost is going in.

Try hooking up your IAB's to this and keep us posted on how it works:

Nope. It will be closed at idle, and at mid throttle. But open at mild to WOT.

They just open according to the throttle position.

Little nice thing I got when swapping the lil beast into the EG

actually the secondary butterflies were already removed b/c the p28 doesn't control secondary butterflies.

Is the light on the interface box flashing or solid? (at idle and at 6k) Are you throwing a CEL? If you were experiencing it at 3200 i would tell you that is the limp mode rev limit. In that case, the problem would be the rom, ecu, or socketing.

geesh, didn't mean to say anything to offend you. i just wanted to let you know that the butterflies weren't the problem b/c i had removed them already b/c i knew that the p28 didn't control secondaries.

i'm not getting a check engine light.......hmmm

No CEL at all? Can you rev past 5000 when the car is in neutral?

Oh heyall no.

When you hit 5000, does it just cut off, or bounce on it? Sounds to me like you are being thrown in limp mode on the ECU. But I don't know much about Hondata.

you never answered my questions except for the CEL. i cannot diagnose your problem unless you let me know.

when i hit 5000 it doesn't cut off....it bounces off the rev limiter. Gude, i believe the light is solid. i will have to check again tomorrow and let you know. thanks for helping me try to diagnose this problem.

person who tuned my car is one of my good friends. he's been tuning with hondata for years and never had problems on any car but mine. also, i don't have the 3-step rev limiter option
