i have 12 valves leftover form my 96 type r head that i blew the other 4 are no good from a bad combusiotn chamber but the other 12 are just fine. i was wondering if i could reuse those 12 valves and buy 4 new ones form acura and use them together in my b16 head? is this a bad idea of mixing used valves with brand new valves? or should i just forkout the 320 bux for a set of brand new valves?

 

come to think abot it can u buy just 4 valves from the dealer? or do they only sell the whole set?

you should be able to buy one froma dealer. i have for my B16. usally most motorsports make you buy the whole set , so no good deal. but yea, honda dealers will give you only 4 if you need them

 

ok thats great news thanx for your help, now does any one knwo if its ok to use 4 new valves with 12 used ones i have left over out of my jdm 96 type r head?

 

be safe then sorry. replace all of them. they may look okay, but what if its bend tiny bit where you can notice

 

ok what about getting a set of valve springs and retainers for the civic type r instead of the teg type r? i ask because i think that the b16b revs higher than the b18c5 and that would mean that the b16b has better valve spreings and retainers to handle the slightly hihg revving? am i wrong?
