Default NEw S2000 owner when is it ok to redline the car

like the title says i have a brand new S2000 and i was wondering if it was ok to drove the engine hard already i just reached a 1000 miles today and i was told that this car is meant to be driven hard alot. i was wondering if it would be ok then to take the car to the track this weekend. from what i know from past experience ur soppose to baby the car until like 4000 miles please let me know asap on what i should do

I waited til 600 miles to VTEC. I think you're ok.

1k miles, you should be Ok to drive hard. For track event, i would do it after first oil change. My first track with S2000 was around 3500.

I agree with chan1wan you should race at the track when you change your oil for the first time.

you can take it to the track, but dont expect to see good times as full power is not produced by the motor until about 5000 miles...i noticed a huge difference with mine around 4800, and it got a little better yet around 5100

I've heard you should still run it through the revs. Don't baby it too much while breaking it in. I brought it to 9k rpm at around 1k miles. Seemed to work well for me.
