Default changing rear brake pad problem..

Well, after having a pain time getting the caliper out, the brake cylinder wont compress back in, and I can't get the caliper back on. Anyone have any suggestions?

It threads on, it doesn't just compress in like the fronts.

Right you are...the front pistons compress with a c-clamp, the rears screw in. You can use a specific tool shaped for the piston that you can get at your local parts store, or just jam something in there and turn the SOB

the part you need to screw the piston back in looks like a cube. fits on a 3/8" socket and is multi-sided to fit various makes of cars.

took a few minutes to screw the pistons back down w/ the tool when i did my rear brakes.

I used a big flat file to turn that thing, very easy. Be careful not to twist the rubber boot.

I just use a big flat chisel, it does the same thing that the cube tool does. btw I do have that special tool(cube) to push the piston back in but sometimes I do get lazy and that's why I said use a big flat chisel. just my .02
