Which pistons combo shoud I use.
Bought a B18C6 off a guy who raced in the BTCC (British Touring Car Champioship) for £1000 yesterday,
took it apart and guess what I found, I called him to confirm.
The engine was originally built by Neil Brown Racing, who prepares the Honda TOCA Type R engines.
well, the cams are BTCC spec with Mardigras cam pulleys
but what came out of the block was quites interesting...
The pistons are Accralite F3 forged pistons with two rings and Arrow Con Rods,
unfortunately It has a missing Crank, but was advised that all I need is a B18C crank and it will do the job. The displacement will be 2.0L
however I have some new piston and conrods, so what do I use?
from left to right. Accralite F3 piston with Arrow Rods, Spoon P73 Piston with Spoon P73 rods and JE 12.5:1 with Crower Rods.
any help appreciated. thank in advance.

in the arrow rod, i see the bearing journal with a dark like color on the outside, this might be caused by a spun bearing, but it might also be part of the casting.
Does it looks uniformly? does the other rods have it?
BTW: which of the three is the lightest?

The bearing had burnt up and the crank is damaged, however the they look fine, so the Rods can still be used.
i call Neil Brown racing today and they want GBP6000 - GBP7000 for a engine rebuild!!! that's $10000 - $12000!
