honda says no more A/C, is that true?
looks like summer has finially hit and driving around this weekend i realized that i can't go another summer without a/c. so today i called an acura dealership to find out about getting a/c installed. the parts guy said they didn't have any. he then called honda canada and they said they don't make it anymore and that they don't even have a part# for it in their database. so is that true, no more a/c available? he also said that a gsr a/c won't work either. so am i doomed to fry this summer? i thought any integra a/c unit would work
by the way, mine is a 2000 itr.

there are plenty of people here selling their A/C units....it will save you some bucks too!
then just have it installed if you don't know how to do it

By law car manufactuers are suppose to keep making parts for a car after its been discontinued for 7 years. Try sourcing one in USA or buy used. Buying used would be your best bet because you would save $$$ and most of these ac units are coming out of 2000-2001 Type R models so their still relatively new.

yea, that's what i was thinking. so is it possible to use the a/c from another integra like a gsr? are they the same unit?

I think what he's trying to say is not that acura doenst sell all the parts... but that they're not selling the 'kit' that comes in a box as they were doing as a dealer installed option.
I have most of the parts from a 2000 ITR A/C system (except evaporator). I will sell it for $100. But, I am 100% sure you will need a lot of miscellaneous parts to get it to work.

Yes but in Toronto they have BRUTAL humidity - since they are surrounded by the Great Lakes.
90 degrees feels like 120. Humidex readings are usually off the charts due to smog.
You NEED a/c in T/O.

HAHAHA!!!
Sorry, but this is just funny listening to a Canadian talk about how "hot" it is in the summer.
Go down to Florida or Alabama on the Gulf Coast and THEN you will feel hot. 95*F with 100% humidity, day after day. After living in Atlanta GA, which would probably make a Canadian drop dead after 15 mins in the heat, I can't stand more than about 1-2 hours outside at a time in Southern Alabama. I don't sweat either(like 90*F 50-60% humidity, no sweat with jeans on), but I go outside in 95-100*F 100% humidity weather and it just comes pouring out of me.
But yea, AC is nice regardless of where you live.
