Default Type R strut tower brace

How does the stock type R front strut tower brace compare to DC Sports, Neuspeed, and other aftermarket bars. Will it have the same effect as the others...

I believe the ITR has internal ribs for your pleasure.

Seriously thou, I think it has more internal construction. Look inside the ends and you'll see. Essentially, instead of being merely a rectangular box, the hollow part inside is bridged with walls.

At least the rear JDM itr is as such. Never looked at my front....

I like my neuspeed front strut bar because it spread out the mounting points and I felt a BIG difference compared to a dc, mugen type, and tenzo(crap) I had before. the itr bar would be my second choice

I can't believe you just said that.

Most tower bars are the same (ie no noticable difference). The Skunk2's are a nice, fairly cheap setup.

stay away from any bar that is not solid all the way through(i.e. dc sports). the neuspeed is very tuff and has a 4 point brace and the type r bar is tuff too since honda knows what they are doing and wouldn't put crap on their car.
i would go with whatever you feel comfortable with although i recommend the neuspeed since it is only $89 at tornactive.com right now and one of the best bars on the market
thats my 2 cents

The oem itr bar is pretty weak but it is much better than others such as oem gsr. I would only opt for it if you want a stock or purty looking engine bay.

like everyone else said.. most are pretty similar in design, the itr is not hollow totally hollow inside as some are. But i would prefer my neuspeed 4point bar as far as performance. here's a pic of my neuspeed bar....

Do you have to drill any holes with the neuspeed bar?

no drilling, but it's function is a little different from a normal bar. the neuspeed 4 point connects to the upper arm bolts.

ITR is a very nice looking bar, i wanted one originally. but i realized it's not worth the normal asking price. Neuspeed bar is really good, especially for the price. Skunk2 is really good as well since it's a direct copy of spoon and DC sports seems worthless to me.
I'm VERY happy with my Benen 3 point bar. i'll get a pic up tonight

Will the ITR bar fit a 90 Teg? Do the brackets need modification?
