harness question
this might be a stupid question, but i gotta ask.
is there any other way of mounting the shoulder straps to the harness bar portion of the cage than what is shown below?
i think this is a johng picture. i hope he doesn't mind me using it. if the owner of this pic doesn't want it used, please IM me and i will delete it from this thread.

i thought i had seen the straps mounted so the excess strap was facing "down". as seen above, the excess faces toward the back of the seat.
i guess i am just picky and don't like the excess flopping around like that.
thanks.

On a related side note, the latest issue of SportsCar has an article dealing with safety devices and the correct way (and incorrect way) to mount harnesses. May want to check it out.

on a smiliar note, has anyone ever used the sparco bolt-in kit with the lap belt? the lap belt is wider than the slot in the bolt-in kit. how do i attach the belt to the bolt-in kit?

Not just limited to Sparco, common any time a 3 inch belt is used in a 2 inch mount. If you have no access to a 3 inch slotted kit, fold the outer 1/2 inch from each side back under and insert it. If you fold under it can look pretty tidy but you are functionally doubling the thickness going through the slot. Doing this to make a single pass through is not a big deal but you still need the 3 inch sliding buckles to make your multiple passes through to lock the belt back to itself.

They show this in the simpson install diagram someone posted earlier in this thread.
