Default there is such thing as "justice"...... well sometimes

Maybe the wrong forum...but want fellow rex drivers to hear a story Just thought I would share this story with you guys so we can count another one for the good guys

The red car in the sig...yeah the one with the altezzas... was broken into 1 year ago TO THE WEEK and I had a bunch of stuff stolen... I heard the kid break the window (I had just gotten home at like 3 AM from some car show we were at) I ran outside ready to beat some *** - but he must have heard me coming cause he was in his truck taking off by the time I got out there.

I have heard of too many people getting away with stealing **** out of cars, so I jumped in mine - barefoot and in shorts sitting on all the glass the idiot broke (had to be an idiot who broke in cause my lock on the driver side was broken from someone else trying to break in and didnt work yet...he didn't even try the door)

Well, to put it shortly, this turned into a high speed chase while I got and wrote down his license plate number and any description I could get of him in the vehicle and the vehile information etc...lasted about 5 minutes.

I stop following him and start for home PISSED AS HELL flying through a windy road...didnt realize I was doing over 95 until the last curve - I a had pretty decent setup in that car so it handled pretty well...but I lost the back end and couldnt correct...spun the car around and slid to a stop in the grass on the side of the road about 2 feet from a tree wider across than my tiny little car - - - almost desomated.

I drove home with very minor damages to the car from things (branches etc.) flying up while I was sliding. I called the cops and gave them all the info I had gotten and they came to my house and I had to tell them the whole story etc, but they thanked me for helping them get info on this guy cause he had hit 3 other cars that night (found out from blood left at the scene of each breakin cause he smashed windows with his hand )

They went and picked the kid up...of course I find out it was someone I knew - pissed me off even more. I decided I didnt want to repair the car because PLPD sucks and wont do anything and homeowners wouldnt help me even though I was in my driveway, so I parted it out. The LS motor was my friends so I gave that back and I still have stuff left in the garage but I made over 2300 dollars selling parts I had on it.

I went to court for the whiole deal and told them due to the situation I was in etc. and not having money to fix the car it was totalled...The judge awarded me the full 3500 dollars I asked for in restitution and put the kid on probation with heavy heavy fines.

Well, saturday...almost 1 year after the whole deal I got a check in the mail for 3500. Never thought I would see it but DAMN it felt good

just thought I would share with my fellow H-T 'ers

btw...yeah it was stupid of me to chase the kid probably - not knowing if he had any kind of weapon and the cops said as much as they were glad I did they "had to let me know in the future I should let them do their job....blah" but the kid went to jail(broke probation) and I got my money and have a new ride on top of it all.

to theives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.....got all my **** back too

Yeah, it was probably stupid...but you were pissed as hell and I imagine anyone would do the same thing. Sometimes you need to let that part of you take over, as long as it's within reason.

Anyways, that's cool that it worked out and the kid got caught.

I woulda done the same thing without a doubt.
let the cops do their jobs, riight. translated: "let the culprit get away scott free only to break into other cars for a long time coming"

cops are stupid about that ****, when my old integra was broken into, I could see clean fingerprints all over my car and the cop didnt even want to dust, he just gave me some bullshit about "well chances are the prints arent even in the system so I might as well not even waste my time, besides I have more important things to do."

hell yeah, never let them get away and trust the cops. they wont do ****. like i had someone break into my house, and i saw the screwdriver they used to get in. we told the cops to get the finger prints, and he said they couldnt, bs, so never caught the guy. yeah they say just let him drive off but yeah drive off and never be caught like always

at least you got your check

It's not the police's job to solve crimes, thats what Batman is for. The police's job is to ticket teenagers in Hondas to create revenue for the crooked politicians of the state.

Batman is a big bastard. Why do you think he is rich? The cops pay him off! Since he took over all the work of busting real criminals it keeps the cops on the street writing more tickets and collecting more money for crooked politicians. The politicians in turn pay off Batbastard to keep his mouth shut and look like a hero.
