HELP! Water in plugs after cleaning engine.
I washed my engine bay and then I started the car. When it was idling it felt like it was going to die, so I popped my hood and took off the spark plug cover. I saw that the #1 cylinder plug was half way up so I pushed it in and water squirted out. I immediately shut the car off and saw that I had water in my #1 cylinder, there was also some water coming out of my exhaust.
So I sucked the water out of the cylinder and started it back up. Let it idle for 30 min and no bogging, but when I step on the gas the bogging starts again. I replaced the spark plug and it's still the same. What the hell is wrong?
I did a search, but couldn't find the answer!

Yeah, I did that, I also replaced the spark plugs, it idles fine but once you step on the gas it starts to bog/stutter.
You think I need to change the oil? Anyone know what kind of damage it might have?

Alright, I'll do that tomorrow. When the engine stutters, it feels like the pistons are getting caught in the cylinder walls.

take off the distributor cap and dry everything out...I higly doubt that you did any serious damage...and I don't really think that you need to change your oil.
Always make sure to cover your distributor and air filter (if it's exposed) with plastic bags before you take the hose to the engine....
I had this same thing happen to me once.....once
BTW...where'd you find the pic of the gurl in your avatar...she's purty

I know it's not the distributor or intake, cuz I covered those before spraying.

Okay, I changed the oil and saw some water in there. Car runs a little better, but still bogs? Anyone else know what I should do?

are you still having problems? I know that integobsession had the same problem- the car also threw a CEL for random misfires. he just dried the spark plug + spark plug wire w/ a hair dryer and everything was fine and dandy.
I have done this too...It trashed the plug wires....not just hey they got wet, it like separated the wires higher up, I replaced my wires with new ones, used the same (dryer) plugs, etc...now with no problems.....try something for me, open the hood, witht he engine running, use one hand to open the throttle, untill you hear it start bogging, hold it there and then push on the plug wires from the top one at a time and see if it goes away, thats what I had to do to identify the bad wires or I never would have figured it out!

Yeah, I figured it out, had to replace the spark plug wire. It's all fix now, thanks.

what kind of bags do you use when you wash your engines, when i washed mine, i used plastic grocery bags and one of them came off. do you recomend anything better?

I use tin foil over the dist and alt. that way I can form the foil over the shape of whatever I'm trying to protect. also, use low water pressure so you don't end up forcing water into places you don't want it to go.
