How Hard is it to replace the Fuel Injectors on an 1.5L 88 CRX DX?
I dont know how many of you have done this but lately I have been having some problems with my CRX starting. It starts 9 times out of 10 but that one time everything works but im not getting it started. The starter works, and so do the plugs. The only thing that I cant think of is clogged injectors. It also has been idling rough so that must be the cause of that too. So has anyone done this before? How hard is it to do? Can someone layout the steps? Are there performance injectors for an 1.5L D Series engine that you can buy?
Thanks Alot

Ya I think so. I dont know **** about my motor because there are no write ups or specs online that I can find. It pisses me off so much. I know more about motors that are not in my CRX. Does it make a difference? Should I look into swapping a MPFI in there? Ahhhhhhh.... I suck at motors sometimes.

yup thats dpfi here is mpfi
my motor is a 1.5l mpfi swapped dx mine used to look like yours, go to http://www.teamsdxracing.com and go to crx specs, we have all the specs on there
and also i have a dx intake manifold laying around with all the sensors and stuff, i can check and see how hard it is to pull the injectors out, but there wont be any performance ones for it. you will see a big gain in performance with the mpfi swap tho

if you're car keeps turning over, you might want to check out if your battery is any good?

my car was doing that too, last two weeks, put some fuel injector cleaner on the tank, it will fix the problem, I have a spare dx motor in my garage, tried to take out the injectors, they wouldn't come out, broke the green plastic tip on one of them, trying to get it out.
wow i was in your shoes the last 3 weeks with changing injectors replacing spark plugs putting fuel injector cleaner in and even a new fuel filter .. but the problem was my coil pack .. you should try pulling your cap off and take a good look at your coil everyone of your syptmems you have i had

intermittent no start condition is most likely caused by failing main relay. these cars are getting older now and the relays are prone to failure. if the problem has been getting more and more frequent the relay has been known to cause this.
BTW with a relay failure, continued cranking will cause a code 16(injectors) code to set

I have a whole throttle body sitting in my basement, injectors and all. although I think the tps is gone on it. If you havn't figured it out yet, IM me and ill see how hard they are to take out.
and another vote for main relay

Mine had already been replaced when I got the car at 150.000, and I replaced it again at 200.000
as for removing the injectors- unplug the green or brown injector plug, take out the #2 phillips screw and retainer ring. remove the little green or brown protective cap, grip the brass snugly with vise grips, and twist/pull. the injector should just slip out.

Oh I stopped at the green protective cap after it slit into, thought I'd messed up something. where is the main relay at, and where can I buy one?
