Default OBD0-OBD1 please read.....

My brother has a 89 hatch with a B16a, he was wondering if it is worth 1000 bucks installed for an OBD0 to OBD1 conversion? That is what a local shop is asking, thats with them getting all the parts. He also wants to know what the advantages of it are? And is it easy to do, for all the people who have done it?

1000 is two dam much.

for 1000 you can get a motor and do the conversion your self and have a 14second car.

if you can read and compare charts you should be able to do it yourself. also you might take a lookin to Jason harness.

A 1000$ is way too much bro. You can probably get the conversion harness (makes things a lot simpler) and all the other necessary things for under 300$. Spend a 2-5 hours making the necessary wiring changes and ur all set. I did my obd-0 to obd-1 conversion myself and it wasnt that hard, really it wasnt.

I'm selling my OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness for $130 shipped, I used it for like 10 seconds then swapped my OBD0 stuff back in along with my A6 head on the Vtec motor, anyway its for a OBD0 to P-28 ecu.

Even if you don't buy the harness from me, get one from blown90hatch, its sweet !

The JDM B16a(1) is OBD 0....you shouldn't have any real problems. The B16a2 (hydro tranny) you will have prblems, but I don't know why you would buy this becuase the gen 1 B16a is the same, and cheaper, and pretty easy install for 88-91 obd 0 cars.

I have all that stuff too, but if you should or shouldn't convert to OBD1.... I have no idea, I don't even look at B-series stuff ( My stealth is my "big money" car, NO 300hp civic is worth the cost IMO ). If you need any of the OBD1 stuff let me know and I'll make you a deal on it all b/c I just Have it laying around. If you have an A6/pm6 dizzy I'd trade you my OBD1 dizzy straight up...

BTW your "DX" car is going to need to go though the MPFI re-wireing too, but that ANY swap in that car ( like mine ).

This is what i already have, a 89 std hatch with a B16a swap with a hasport wiring harness. So i would just need a OBD1 ecu, dizzy, jumper harness, and injectors right?

If you still have the STD. manifold I'd take $150 plus the manifold for OBD1 dizzy ( $75-$100 ), blown90hatch conversion harness ( paid $163 shipped ), and OBD1 injectors ( ummm $30 ? ). I just sold the ECUs this morning...

Wow....1000 dollars. Ask that shop what they want for the engine swap. That should be funny.

Here is what you need for my conversion:

OBD1 ecu
OBD1 distributor
4 wire O2 sensor
My conversion harness.

My conversion harnesses come with detailed instructions for an easy installation. Also, I have chipped P28 ecus for your setup as well.

Some advantages are being able to use different standalone....Speedpro, Hondata, etc....all which require an OBD1 setup. Able to use test pipes with out pesky check engine lights, etc.

You can get the Hasport Dx to SI conversion harness if you want. I can make that conversion as well and save you a hundred or so.

You do not need the OBD1 injectors....You can keep the OBD0 injectors if you want....

Silly me, he can't use any of my OBD1 stuff b/c its for SOHC motor not B-series. unless he can use my P-28 which a buyer just flaked out on...

Not really anything good in lakeland. brandon seems to be the "place to be". My brother lives there. 3 bedroom house = $1200 a month. I have a MUCH BIGGER yard and a 3 bedroom house in lakeland = $500 a month, plus I live 5 minutes from the Publix warehouse that I work at ( hopefully for another 20 years ).

I here some guys on tamparacing.org are doing a mini-meet this Friday, you'd probly be the smarted dude there.... I might go, depends if i have my 8.4/1 compression Z6/A6 hybrid motor idleing right yet...
