Mis-Shift...need help??
Hey guys, just need a quick answer with something, I was doing about 120km/h in 5th, and don't ask me how, but I was on the phone and wasn't paying attention and wanted to go to 4th to pass some guy, however, I accidentally shifted to second, and I let the clutch off for a second, enough for the revs to go to almost 10 on the tach, however, I realized the mistake and I hit the clutch again immediatly, and put it into 4th. I was so worried, but the car seemed totally fine after, it idled normally, and I even pushed it like raced it a couple of times, hitting v-tec, and there was no problem, she drove fine. My buddy said do a valve adjustment just incase, and I probably will, but it drives good, so should I be worried, like would I have noticed something wrong instantly or would it develop over time, like would she drive fine and I woulda still have fucked something up??
Happens to a lot of people...if your idle is good, you're probably ok.
Do a quick check on the valves anyway, and perform any necessary adjustments to be safe. You're not hearing any ticking are you?

Very loud ticking at idle... Much louder then normal, you will know if you hear it.
I would suggest doing a compression check to be absolutely sure nothing came together. If your compression checks out Ok then your good to go.

Nope, no ticking, I took it to Acura however, and the technician came out for a drive with me, popped the hood, checked it out and I raced it with him in the car, and he said she sounds good, just do the regular oil changes (synthetic) and the 96,000 km service and I should be fine. He said I was ******* lucky!! hehe
