01 Integra owners, question for you
Why did you get the integra over say an RSX at the time? Good deal on the teg, didn't like the RSX design? Just curious as to why you would get one with the new(er) car sitting next to it.
Didn't like the looks of the RSX at all at the time. Plus it was out of my price range. Got a good deal on the Integra. If I had to start over, I'd wait for an ITR.
The rsx wasn't out yet when I bought my 01 gsr. Even if it had been, I still would have bought my integra over it. I've been wanting a 3rd gen integra ever since the 6th grade. Plus, I got my gsr for dirt cheap due to the soon to debut rsx.
i bought mine a couple of months b4 the rsx came out. I've wanted a GSR since 94. The RSX looked like a new civic. IMO ugly. Good thing I didnt buy one either, because when I test drove one later on it was
. After one test drive w/ my GSR I knew that I wanted the car.

i LOVE the rsx. so sexy in black pearl. but in financial terms, 01 gsr would save my mom way more money over the rsx-s. not to mention the insurance. im 18 in los angeles. but i love the rsx. i'm sure none of you would mind driving a k20 with i-vtec.
I bought my '01 GSR in late May 2001, just about a month prior to the RSX's debut. Once I saw the RSX, I didn't like the front styling at all and the interior was a total departure from what I expected of Honda so that was another dislike. All Acuras are looking the same now and the days of each Acura having a unique look are gone. The RSX looks too bloated and the car is much taller than the GSR. That was enough for me to go for the GSR. Since Satin Silver was introduced for the '01 GSR model year, there was only a half year run before the RSXs arrived in July. I was able to find my silver GSR for $19.8K brand new and RSXs were going for their full MSRP at the time. My brother wanted to trade in his '90 Integra for a new GSR or RSX but after driving both, he liked the GSR better and wound up buying it as well.
The RSX has been out for nearly two years now and I still like the looks of my GSR. Some car styles that I may not like at first can grow on me but the RSX simply hasn't. I know Acura needed to replace the Integra after a seven year run but its replacement just wasn't to my liking.

i feel you bro. rsx-s'es are head turners - even when they're stock.

For the most part, it was the great deal I got on my LS. The dealership had to make room for the RSX, so they sold mine for $15,996. Brand-new, only had 13 miles on it. It was the only manual with black interior they had as well. Another reason was that it is better to get the latest year of the previous generation than the first year of the latest generation, because of recalls and such. You know that the 2001's are refined and polished. I still think the RSX is a great car, but I love the looks of the DC2.
