SI tranny prices vary alot. You can find them between $100 and $400. I myself wouldn't pay more than 200 for a good one

I just spent $225 on an L3 Si tranny out of an 89 CRX. I'd say I got a good deal on it, it only had 40k though. Straight out of the junkyard....

i got another question, is it a hard job to drop out a tranny and put a new one in?? like could i do it myself w/ norman hand tools?? cause i would like to do it in my grage and just put it up on some jack stands. can u pull the tranny that way? or do u need to lift the car higher? and about how long of a job is it?? (and i do have expeince, i pulled out my a6 motor and put in my zc but i had another guy help me and we had a car lift and air tools) so could i pull and put a new tranny in in one day??? with no major probloms

Air tools might help a lot.. as for the job, well i have changed my tranny 3 or four times, all i do is place the car on some jackstands and just drop the tranny from underneath.. it has worked all the time.. it takes me about a day with the help of my friend and a 15 minute break every 30 minutes.. haha...

and how u know its a good one?
unless u open the tranny, check for worn out differential pin, bad and worn out synchros and worn out or cracked select forks.... theres no really way to tell if a tranny its on good condition or not....
IMO dont ever pay more than 150 for one..... i wont go more than 100 without openin it
