Default JDM Spoon Header/No VTEC

Just installed a JDM Spoon header and now there's no Vtec, the Engine Check light is on at all times, and the car feels weak.

I've resetted the ECU and Purged the settings on my VAFC

The guys said the Lamba sensor is broken so I'm going to Honda tomorrow to get a new one. Is there anything to try while I'm waiting? I can't get the CEL code at the moment, doe this sound like a dead sensor before I buy a new one?

what does a header have to do with the VTEC system. Did you cut into a o2 sensor wire or bang up the o2 sensor.

did you reconnect both 02 sensors?

it would help if you knew what code it was throwing.

no, when the check engine light is on, the car goes into safe mode. vtec is one of the things that shuts down when in safe mode.

Removal of the o2 sensor does cause a check engine, but does not make it go into safe mode.

But if you do things right, even with no o2's in a obdII car, I get no check engine. Foil and zip ties are your friend.

not on every case , use to have a gsr an install the jdm 4-1 with a test pipe .That cause for the check engine light on do to the 02 sensor . An never had the problem of vtec engaging

OK, just got the car back from Honda, said there were no error codes, said the sensor was fine, just great.

They said the reason I'm getting the ligh us is because of the fact that I had no CAT yet I've been running no CAT for over a year now I didn't see any light before, can't help thinking it's got something to do with the position on the O2 sensor in the header , maybe it goes down too far or too little but Honda said the ECU thinks there's no CAT

I've read somewhere that if you jam a washer between the sensor and the bung it'll lift the the sensor into a better place to catch the gases, any help will be good guys

I'm going to see if I can find the thread ....................

A code 67 wont prevent vtec engagement.

More info, I've found the the bung in the original manifold + the thickness of the manifold itself to be no think that 1cm where as the Spoon has what looks like a brass cap that I'm sure is way higher.

another thing whats the first o2 sensor?, I only know one o2 sensor - the one that don't work for me aaarrghh!!

Check the codes yourself and post which ones you have. A bad P02S will through a P02S malfunction code, not a cat below threshold code.

If you're getting a CEL then there IS one or more code(s), no matter what honda told you.

Will a exhaust leak cause the this? MY exhaust is not 100% at the moment I don't think the guy welded it on fully knowing that I got to go back to him with some correct size flanges. I get a hissing/buzing noise when I'm doing about 3k-4k.

Whiteboy, damn, where's the plug for the code there nothing behind the glove box apart from some white plastic.

I'm prolly the only guy that got a Spoon Header that make to make your go slower.

it'll be in a green rubber cover..

pull it out of the green cover, and jump it with a piece of wire, a paper clip, or a fork (not a plastic one of course )

here's text directions with the pics above..

WWaaarrrgh!! not where the ecu is!! , I almost broke my neck last time I was there wiring up a V-AFC with me upside down and my head in the foot well!

Scariest place on earth, I'd say I'm looking at it, maybe I can pay a kid to do it for me? I'll prolly get busted for paying a kid and asking them to do "something" for me.

Will have a go tomorrow - GULP!
