Well it's a whole lot better than junk mail . How about an Endyn built 2.0L Type R motor? It made me miss the Expo, but it should be well worth the trouble!

Here's the laundry list:
Golden Eagle sleeved 2.0L B18C5 block
Endyn 84.5 RW pistons
Endyn rods
Cometic 85mm head gasket
Toda Spec B cams
Eibach valve springs
Crower retainers

BTW, I have one of John's beautiful headers (the one that all the previous pics have been of) waiting to be bolted on to this bad boy. I don't know if he wants any numbers repeated, but he sent me the dyno results from his header and exhaust on an otherwise stock and R, and I'll I can say is Holy Christ on a stick! Were talking absolutely amazing numbers.

Anyway, that's all for know, more info as I have time.

Mike

Cost? I try not to think about it too much. Let's just say I ran way over budget. There's 10K in parts and work to the motor, easy. It was one of those things that just kind of snow-balled.

FYI, I'm still having trouble with the pics showing up. I"ll try and get it sorted out later.

Don't get too excited untill you get it working and strap it to a dyno.

BTW, I didn't know Eibach made valve springs...are they any good?

Come on, have a little faith, eh?

The Eibach valve springs are fairly recent. Maybe in the last year or so. Eibach was displaying them at this year's IAS. According to Larry, either the Toda's or the Eibach's, are the only springs that will work effectively with the B's. My last set of Crower's snapped within six months of pretty tame street driving, so I'm hoping these fair a bit better.

10,000 in parts?? Are you nutz?

For 10k I'd be turboed and be blowin right by ya and waitin drinkin some coffee at the finish line..If that engine doesn't put at least 220 to the ground you been scammed again by Larry. What exactly cost 10k for n/a motor?

Yeah, you can go a lot faster than this for 10K, but that's not what I wanted. I like the fact that the character of the car is similar, and looks fairly stock from the outside. That price guestimate also includes the cost of the cams, flywheel, clutch, fuel system, intake, exhaust, etc., etc. It all adds up pretty quickly.

I won't know the true numbers for a while yet, but I'm guessing between 230-240hp to the wheel.

Try running the turbo GSR at high-rpm for 2 hours non-stop at the road track and see what happens.

There was a guy at Gingerman Raceway with a supercharged GSR and he ran for a good three hours. Want to know what happened?

He passed a lot of people (Type-R's, NSX's, etc).

Who is going to be endurance racing here?Noone.Who is to say that engine will last any longer than a properly built turbo engine? When I met Chris Rado and his crew we were talking about the cost of engines. He said that he buys his motors from a builder for $6k.The night he dynod his car here at the shop it(on low boost) it made 543 hp at 15 psi.For 10k I would be looking for boost aswell.

Type R 126: If you don't mind me asking (because your set looks like my dream set up) what kind of red line and compression ratio do you have? Are you gonna run that engine on race fuel only or on on 91 octane fuel?

True that. for 10K, I'd either want to see 11's or trade in the R and get a TT supra. Sorry, but I wouldn't spend that much. -C

So Mike, how's the install going? Did you and Rich get any sleep last night? I'll talk to you later when I'm back at work.

Mike, make sure to tune it as you were probably told by the builder and not how locals or yourself "think" it should be done...

nomorecrx -

I didn't go spec C's for two reasons. Fisrt when I bought the cams about 2 years ago, my head package wouldn't tolerate that much lift. Second, since this is mainly a street car, the few extra peak hp wasn't worth all the other hassle that C's entail. With the current motor, I don't need as much lift or duration anyway.

Dc2-specR -

I'm guessing Chris Rado is paying 6K for basically on long block. If you re-read my post, you'll see that that price I qouted is for everything including shipping, all the little misc. items you need to rebuld and swap out the engine, along with the exhuast, intake, fuel system, etc., etc. Price for all the work on the long block, and new hard parts was much less. Remember too that the balance has pretty much ben spent over the life of the car.

ITR00-816 -

Redline is at 9300 rpm. The R/S ratio is the same as it was stock, so it's still not the best idea to rev it like a B16. The nice thing about a 2.0L is that you don't need to wring the **** out if it to go fast.

Austin -

We were upt to 1:30 , but it's in!

Zues -

I am dutifully following Larry's recomendations, although I'm no stanger to spending some quality tuning time on the dyno.
