Damn! My clutch is F***ed up!
The clutch in my '96 GSR has lately been making a weird noise and has been sticking to the floor. This morning I started the car and it idled very roughly. I turned it off and tried to start it back up but it wouldnt even start. Whenever you push the clutch pedal it just drops dead to the floor. I'm thinking it's the clutch cable. Can anybody help me out? Thanks
yea too bad that the clutch pedal is ATTACHED to the CLUTCH master cylinder...geez...like I said...again....where do you people learn about cars? Your mom? I bet 97hb can't even change his own transmission fluid.

The clutch hydraulic system has both, a master and slave cylinder. Either could have popped a seal and cause the system to lose its pressure.

Thats what I thought you were saying. Yes the clutch master cyl is attached to the clutch pedal, and yes the slave shares the same hydro line, so it can go both ways.

99% sure its your clutch master cylinder.. look for leaky brake fluid where it goes thru the firewall. bleeding it should be a temporary fix. CMC is about 90 bucks and an easy install.
I dunno about what everyone else knows about cars in this response....but the guy said it makes a funny noise...this is a pretty clear indication that is is not the master cylinder or the slave...but the throwout bearing. I replaced my clutch about 3 months ago...same situation... Now a way to check this is to just look on the front of the tranny...there will be a black boot (you can slide the boot out of the way and you will see the rocker arm). Have a buddy push on the clutch pedal and check and see if the rocker arm or at least the slave cylinder piston is pushing out(ie. moving to the left if you are in front of the car). It should move at least and inch or so. Clearly if it doesn't move then it is your master or slave cylinder...but if it does move then what has happen is possibly your rocker arm pins have come off...or the throwout bearing is messed up (that is probably when you hear the wierd noise). So yah hope this helps
check your clutch oil might be it, because it happened to me once and i lost all pressure in my clutch. i just had to pour more clutch fluid in. I have to bleed it one day because its not a hard as it use to be.
