ac controls wont work..and i live in Florida+summer=:(
Okay leave work yesterday..ac controls dont work, the little lights on the function and recirculation controls arent lit and none of them work..and the ac switch doesnt work either, only thing that works is the blower motor and the fan switch. So i check the fuses..all good, look at wiring diagram..seems like if the blower works so should the other controls..so i get a new control unit at the junk yard..blah..it doesnt work either, but again the fan blower and switch still do? Any ideas? could i have gotten a second faulty control unit from the junk yard? or somethign else? would like to fix this myself..but seems like i might have to go to the dark side and take it to my old mechanic..blah.. this is a 1990 3rd gen by the way....thanks before hand

Jay, if you look at your wiring diagram you will see that fuse #18 (dash f/b) supplies power to everything you say is not working. Blower is on a separate circuit. Pull your control head out and check for power, with ignition on, at yel-blk wire. Also check integrity of this connection. Also check Blk wire and make sure its grounded good. Check these with a test light not a voltmeter. If these check good then check for ground at green wires at back of A/C switch with ignition on and blower on Hi. One is ground coming from blower switch, the other is grounded when you push A/C switch......post results...3gdude
