Anybody know the weight of the del sol. Specifically the model that came with the B16 DOHC VTEC, but i'll take any info i can get. Factual info only please no guesses, i need an accurate number. Thanks.

 

It weights about 2350 lbs. It`s a heavy car that`s why they call them "DEL SLOW".

 

The VTEC model (B16A) Weighs 2491 lbs. Yes heavier than you would expect from such a little car, but just remember all the reinforcement that is necessary on a convertible vehicle. It still is not that bad.

 

Line any other Civic up with the VTEC model and you will see why the term "del Slow" is misused.

 

Well I have one and it still flexes in corners . But I didn`t think it was that heavy .If I find the time there is a scale for trucks down the maybe I`ll go and check the weight .

 

hehe, Del Slow came about because of the S series of sols with the 1.5 d15 engine with 106 hp...

Come up next to my vtec sol stripped and weighing in at 1950 ibs, all bolt ons and a n1 suspension, and we car see which can earns the name slow

What did you remove to drop 500 lbs from your sol ?

 

one word EVERYTHING... all thats really left is one seat, racing wheel, and the engine, lightweight everything else....
no powersteering, no ac, no accessories, stripped to the metal interior, light weight rims, CF hood, hatch, no radio, lighter than normal aftermarket exhaust, CC headers.
