I've had the silencer on my N1 ever since I got it, but I took it off this morning so I can clean all the black dust on the tip.. OMG, its soooo loud without the silencer... It sounds like a totally different car. Although I like the sound, I will probably put the silencer back on because I am considerate of my neighbors.

 

I want your exhaust! i'm going to order it in a few weeks ...is it louder than the Tanabe SRM? The sound isn't annoying is it? without the silencer???

 

You get used to the noise actually...its a great exhaust. If i were you I would take off that silencer, youre killin power! :/

And yea the silencer makes it super quiet

 

I don't know how it compares to the Tanabe... its not annoying.. just loud. The annoying part is when I am at the light and peeps take off as if I am going to try to race them because I have a loud exhaust.

 

Thats odd, noone does that to me, and they hear me comin from a bit away haha. *shrug*

I would love to have the N1 on my ride. But I can't even imagine how much I would get pulled over for some BS charge of an "unlawful modified exhaust" because it's so loud. I wanna go with the TSHM instead, cuz im hoping its a lot quiter than the N1. And no, the N1 does not sound ricey at all. Its real deep and real loud. Fart cans do indeed suck

 

hmm...i put my silencer in and i didn't really notice that big a reduction in sound...so i just leave it off. just my .02

 

yea, that's the thing holding me back is the po-po. Also i heard that after a while the n1 sound will starts to droan?

 

Where in MI do you live? I havn't heard too much problems about peeps getting pulled over for loud exhaust in my part of town.. at least not yet. I just don't want to sound like some Cavilier's with freakin loud exhaust but when i look over, they arn't going any where.

Edit/ Also in reply to someone's comment, I DO feel alittle bit more torque but it may be just in my head.

Took about two hours.. it would have been less if I had all the right tools...
How do you like the gsr compared to the Lude you had?

 

handles a lot better. I'm missing the low end of the lude though.. man did that thing have torque! But overall I like the gsr more. Vtec wasn't loud in the prelude... but then again I didn't have a intake on it. And the redline of the gsr... mmm can't beat it!

 

My install took about 90 mins cuz the bolts were rusted

Trust me, the N1 actually quiets down over some mileage, not alot, but enough...And it sounds so damn throaty, I love it

Alright, you can install it with just jacks right? or do i need a lift?

 

i would use 4 jack stands.. but all you need is 2. jack up the rear and put the car in gear.

 

it took me about 40 mins to put my friends on....granted we had a lift and air tools!!! you can do it without a lift make sure to use jackstands!

 

jack up the rear...remove the muffler....WD-40 is your best friend. Jack up the front and let the midpipe hang...the screws have the springs surrounding them so it'll sag alot...this makes getting the top bolt out of the cat....again WD-40 is your best friend...soak them and let them marinate in it for a couple minutes...wipe off the excess....good luck!

 

i love the n1 and all...but i dont like the looks....id get the ws exhaust
