I've got a '97 R lip on the way to me and I was wondering whether or not to paint it. Of course it'll look good painted, but I've got a some concerns:
-The curb on my driveway is freakin' high as f*** and I already scrape the stock lip on it every now and then.
-if I scrape it, where will if get scratched and is it noticeable? I really want to paint it but I don't want to waste money and rock a scratched up lip (as opposed to one where scratches wouldn't be noticable). Anybody with this lip got the same issues?

 

I used to scrape my painted SiR lip a lot, but it was always on the bottom and wasn't noticeable unless you were on the ground.... the ITR lip is pretty big, so I dunno how it would look unpainted.... maybe if you did it a dark flat black, wouldn't look too bad, but I'm thinking the scratches on real paint might lead to chips...

 

I think it should be alright painted, I've got a friend with the Comptech lip and it scrapes occaisionally and looks fine. I've got another friend with WWRS on his lude that's been scraped 1,000 times (Rochester roads = worst ever) and only a few were visible.

It really takes a lot to get scratches on the front of a lip, unless you drive straight into your driveway they should only show up on the very bottom. Angles are your friend

paint, i scrape my lip all the time. no biggie.

 

My wife has a flat black SI lip on her EK..
It's better to has something you can paint if you chip it..

Its 50/50... do what you like, not what other people tell you!!!

 

gotta take it case by case. depends on the color of your car and whether or not you got other pieces unpainted. post some pics of what it would look like.

 

yea it really is an a case by case basis. some cars can pull it off, some just look cheesy
