B18A VS B18B
I'm not sure if I read it on here or on TI.net but the b18a is different in that it had a cable clutch and more aggressive cams but was still putting out less power. I know the b18b exhaust cam lifts higher but would the b18a intake cam make more power in a b18b? Only asking because the b18a had a "more aggressive cam profile." Just curious, also if there are any other differences please post them here.
hands down the B will always spank a A if its stock vs stock. also keep in mind that w/ almost all A's nowadays u'd prob wanna get that thing rebuilt, whereas the B's can be bolted straight in and go!!! also one thing to think about is its a very straight forward swap if u're cars obd already matches the engine. like if u have a obd1 civic its more complicated and headache-prone to swap a non obd b18a into ur car, its very possible but man is it annoying, u have swap dist injectors, sensors blah blah blah
The A and B head and cams are different. I'm sorry that's about all I know but I don't think it is that worth it to swap in stock camshafts just try and go with some crowers or somthign like that.
thats not true. . . some engines are tired, some engines are broken in better so on and so forth. . there are many different factors that come in to play that plays a role. Also what do you consider stock? Either way. . the B18B is like 10 mor hp and like 7 more ft/lb or torque. Nothing that drastic. As far as using B18A cams in a B18B.. .ehh, seems rather pointless to me. . . I dont know if it'd make any more power, and unless you HAVE the cams just sitting in your room for free or something, i think itd be a waste of money. Just go with an aftermarket more agressive cam.

It seems as though no-one really read my post. I just wanted to know if a b18a intake cam would make anymore power in a b18b. I'm not gonna actually put one in my car it was just something that piqued my curiousity. I was just hoping that someone with a little more technical knowledge could shed some light on the gains from the intake cam and the specific differences in the b18a and b18b.
