getting Code 8 with PR3 and I completely checked the dizzy wiring
I put the same perfectly running b16a from my dx into the 90 si and now it won't start and I'm getting code 8 which is for the crank angle sensor. I've used the search but have come up with nothing.
Would this code explain why I'm not getting fuel?
Also I'm using the wiring harness from the 88 dx along with the portion of 90 si wiring that goes from the driverside footwell to the back of the car. This meant I had to re-pin the plug for the fuel pump but is there anything else back there I should worry about?
I know the pump is coming on and getting fuel to the fuel filter.
I've also tried two different dizzys
Does anyone have any ideas?

crankk angle its code 4
code 8 its TDC
maybe ur engine is out of timing
take the dizzy to a stok as posible position....
check the firin order of the dizzy its right

it shouldn't be out of time, I haven't changed anything.
I'll check the firing order but it shouldn't have changed either.
So will this code keep the injectors from firing?

If i remember, the computer uses the TDC sensor as a trigger to fire the injectors.
It should be easy to see if your fuel pump is working. When you turn your key on
you sould hear it for a few seconds. Or, loosen the fuel return line to see if you
have fuel pressure. Or, use a voltmeter on one of the injector plugs to see if they
are being pulsed. It should be fairly easy to figure out the problem.
Good luck

Everything checked out fine but when I was working on something else I noticed my fuel pump come on. So I don't think it was coming on everytime. When I heard it come on I immediately tried to start the car and it eventually did. But what's happening is if it doesn't start in the first few seconds, before the code shows up then the injectors stop pulsing. But if I turn the car off and try it again and if it starts in the first few seconds it runs fine and the code doesn't show up.
Also if I give it alot of throttle it'll bog and stutter.
So why would the code show up before I try to start the car?
Does this make sense to anyone?

Why didnt you just use the stock Si engine harness? I think your problem lies with using the dx harness and your Si harness.

My feelings exactly. Why didnt you just use the harness from the 90SI?
Here is an analogy.......Keep the VEINS with the BODY, and just transplant the HEART. Dont try to install the new Heart and VEINS into the body and try to figure out how the VEINS from the Body and VEINS from the transplanted heart connect.
You open up a new can of worms when you do this. I've always kept the original wiring of the car, with the car.
With the exception of a few EG's that I swapped in U.S. spec GSR's into.

The entire si harness wasn't there. Just the rear half. Besides, what in the rear part of the harness could cause the problem?
