about 3/4 weeks ago i went to the local track. i just got my h22a swap done (ran open header because i had no exhaust. the stock one rusted and fell off). eager to see what she ran i took it to the track. at the time. all i had was apex'i short ram and a dc sports cc header. and a jdm h22a. no exhaust. and very very shitty tires.

first pass. 15.1@92 2.39 60 foot
2nd pass. 15.0@93 2.41 60 foot
3rd pass. 25.4@40 4.28 60 foot
4th pass. 15.1@92 2.45 60 foot
5th pass. 15.2@91 2.40 60 foot

now my question. do those et's match up with the mph? i plan on going to the track now with my exhaust and new tires. but would that get me into the 14's (finally). my problem/s at the track.
1. i had shitty tires and could not catch traction. i'd just spin them and bog down
2. with no exhaust. i had no lowend on the car. and the only power came at about 5500rpms-8000rpms.

there was not one pass that i did not spin the tires and bog way down. my question is. what tips. idea's do you think would get me into the 14's next time. i know with my exhaust on and new tires. theoretically speaking i should get into the 14's with no problem. what do you guys think? any ideas? comments?

 

anyone wanna help me out before i go to the track on wednesday? puh puh puhleeese?

missed a gear and decided it wasnt worth wasting the gas???

 

on the 25..........long story made fairly short. corvette stages real fast. i try to short stage so i can get a good r/t. well i stage. and i just barely trip the 2nd light. i'm looking at my tachometer and trying to hold it at 4. i look up and the 3rd light lit up so i just dump it and floor it.(about 5800rpm dump) and it spun like no other and just wheel hopped so bad it kicked me out of 1st gear so i just said f'it and threw it in 4th.

 

ophdeheezy: i've got an h22 tranny. now i have new tires on the car. on the streets they handle 5k dumps with ease and it gets me outta the hole pretty quick. i'm just trying to get into the 14's though. so i can prove everyone wrong.

 

any last minute tips/ preparations that you guys would deem helpful? today is d-day. what would you guys recommend for tire pressure? on kumho ecsta supra's?

things i've changed since last time at the track:

tires. i have swapped out the bald touring tires for 205/55/15 kuhmo ecsta supra's.

i have my full exhaust on. 2 1'4 inch piping from the header back. no cat.

i removed about 70lbs off of the car.

instead of granny shifting. i'm now powershifting.

i went from a short ram to a cai. and took out the front far right blinker. to make a sort of. home made "ram air". the filter sits righ tbehind this light so i took it out to see if i could go any faster. or get a better et.

what do you guys think? the temperature should be about 86 degrees vs. 75ish the last time i was out. do you think that would kill me as much as people say?
