proper way to bleed HF jack?
Can someone tell me how do I bleed the jack with the bleed screw? I lost the instruction. There are two allens on the bleed screw, what are they for? TIA.
Don't mess with the allen heads.
From fully closed, open the jack handle 1 - 1/2 turns and pump. Put a rag over the bleed bolt or you'll get oil on the ceiling. Pump rapidly for 6-8 strokes.
There - it's bled
Leave the bleed bolt in instead of the solid one.

May be a silly question, but did you put new oil in it and fill it up?

"Hydrolic jack oil" is available at any home center. I bought a bottle with more than I'll ever use for around $7 or so. Pull the bleeder bolt and fill that chamber, put the bleeder back in, and repeat the bleed procedure.

Good to know this John, because thanks to RJ's post and my back, I now have one of these jacks on its way and may need to borrow some of that extra fluid.

Also if you leave the bleeder bolt in NEVER store it on it's side or vertical. Oil will definitely seep out
If you don't have a choice put the solid bolt back in.
