VIN break down for Acura's - already searched, including archives...
I searched the hundreds of posts on VIN's, but couldn't find this answer...
For '97-'01 US (DC) Acura's, is there anything in the VIN that uniquely identifies it as a Type R?

if you go to http://www.team-integra.net they havea break down of the vin so you can decod the whole thing....iknow this wasnt your ? but they have a shitload of info over there

This is correct sir, but it is the "1" part of it that makes it a R. Here it is from the helm's manual JH4DC2316WS000001( JH4= hond motor co ltd acura passenger vehicle)(DC2=integra 3-door/ b18c1-b18c5)(3=2-door 5 spd)(1=typeR)(6= check digit?)(w=1998, rest of years are alphabetical also)(S= suzuka Japan)( 000001=serial number) there you go, more info than you need and more than I really wanted to type I should of just taken a pic.
