my sunroof is acting up, it rolls back smoothly, but it goes forward really really slow and goes forward about 3 inches and just dead stops. can someone please help!!!

 

Try cleaning the guides and grease them up a tad bit.

 

thanks alot!!!! i heard some clunkin noise when it rolls back n forth now, but didnt see anything loose or hanging? maybe its juss dirt? well, i just hope it doesnt happen again.

 

i've heard that the springs have a tendency to break off in the tracks. it happened to mine and it made my sunroof stuck half open until i figured out the spring was stuck in the track. the spring may be your clunking noise.

Do you have to take the whole headliner down to access the sunroof to fix this???

 

well, my spring was mauled pretty bad by the sunroof, so i just worked it loose out of the track where it was stuck. i'm still not sure of it's purpose beside to help the small black piece(which isn't attached to anything) move back and forth in the track. i ripped it out last year and i use my sunroof all the time and i can't tell a difference with or without the spring. so no, i didn't take anything apart, just got in there and ripped it out.

 

if the spring breaks are you able to see it? b/c i don't see anything loose or hanging at all.
