Default Swapping an HF

Im incredibly new to the CRX part of honda-business when it comes to swapping. Ive had my 90 TT 300ZX for over a year now and have owned serveral hondas (93 EX Coupe/94 CX Hatc) and I have an 86 HF that i daily drive.

Well.....

Driving home last night I shucked the timing belt and im pretty sure the engines whacked (bent valves)

What are my options right now? I would really enjoy swapping an engine in (sometthing with VTEC) and yes i realize the EFI conversion would need to be made with several other things.

I have heard that the HF is almost pointless to swap compared to the Si when it comes to brakes and suspension and stuff.

What are your guy's estimates as far as costs related to prepping the car for the swap and the engien its self. I have looked at a D16Z6, B16A1, and a ZC

Im sure this question has been asked a thousand times but it seems to me like it keeps getting harder to find info on the 1st gen rex's as time goes by. I appreciate any help!

THanks

if the car is a daily driver stick with d series, a z6 or a y8 so you can have VTEC.
Hasporty does however make engine mounts for the bseries into the 1st gen rexes.
you can probably find a whole z6 swap for somewhere around $500-600. ECU, axels, wiring harness, tranny, etc.

For an 86 you have only a few choices. You could install a Civic / CRX Si engine from 85 - 87, an 86 - 87 Acura Integra engine (or brown top ZC), or a B series (but you would need a mount kit). If you switch to the Integra engine, you will also need the integra transaxle and a few other parts. The biggest problem is going to be converting from a carburetor to fuel injection. Or, you could just run the engine swap with a carb if you aren't in California.

alright, so you guys just think i should stick with a D16Z6--A close friend just swapped out his D16Z6 and Im sure he'd sell it to me dirt cheap. What am i going to be looking at pricewise for doing the EFI conversion and motor mounts?

ON another note my brother is really experienced in making motor mounts (not for hondas specifically-just in general) so i might be able to get away with custom mounts
