they are different, R exhuast flows 30% more and is a different length than the GSR exhaust.

Partly true, and partly false.

The ITR exhaust does flow more, the bends are nicer, and the diameter of the piping is bigger. The muffler is different as well, dunno about the resonator.

The length of the 2000-2001 GS-R exhaust is the same as the ITR exhaust.

The 30% increase in flow is partially responsible from the catback. The exhaust manifold plays a role as well.

The resonator plays a roll as well...being a different size as well if i am not mistaken.

All in all you will feel a change in the GSR with this exhaust. Not night and day though. Saw Ken aka Black R put down 187 at the wheels with his stock ITR exhaust

ITR exhaust: 2.25" mandrel bent, freer flowing muffler.

Still has a bottleneck at the flange at the cat. Narrows to 2". My recommendation (if you get the ITR exhaust), is to hack off the 2" restriction, weld on a 2.25" flange, and get a 2.25" high-flow cat.

The ITR exhaust flows just as well as any other 2.25" aftermarket exhaust. The only advantage it really offers is that it is very quiet and looks very sleeper.

Don't expect 10hp just from bolting on an exhaust system.

The stock ITR system has two resonators. I don't know about the GSR. I've also heard that the ITR cat has a higher flow rate. I know the cat is not actually part of the catback, but I'm curious to know if this is true.

BTW I have a complete exhaust system (header, cat, catback) from a 98 ITR for sale. IM me for details.

Not exactly, mainly because of the multiple "bottle-necks" and the fact that the muffler is a chambered design.
