Default comptech race header

was reading spec on their website and saw this
Comptech Competition 4-2-1 Race Header
Long Tube Design for High RPM Flow.
Stepped Design for Increased Torque Gains.
Ideal for Road-Racing and All Motor Drag-Racing
Race Cars with High Lift Cams and High RPM Rev Range.
Staggered-Stacked Tube Design for Maximum Ground Clearance
2.5" Collector for better flow.
Eliminates Catalytic Converter
and bolts directly to Comptech Competition
Race exhaust or to the cat-back w/ an adapter.
Designed with Comptech’s extensive race history and engineering.
Fits all B18(A/B/C1/C5)and B20 Honda Engines.
Works excellent with Race Exhaust

so does this mean we cannot use cat converter when we use this header ?
or we will be able to have different kinda cat for it ?
and will you guys choose toda over this header ?
if i want to use this header with USDM mugen exhuast, will i be able to put a cat on ?

I think you already answered yourself. The exhaust eliminates the cat converter and bolts directly to a race exhaust or "regular" exhaust with a converter (not cat converter, but some sort of piping converter).

I highly doubt you will pass emissions in any state without a cat converter. Not only will you not pass the smog test, your car will be street illegal without a cat converter.

This should help you with your decision on a header.

It seems that most people get one of the headers listed within the link and a Carsound or keep stock (if it still fits) cat converter.

A race header.... is just that... a piece design for racing and not street.

You can still use a cat, make sure you get a 2.5" high flow cat, you just may not be able to bolt up directly to a typical cat-back exhaust. This header is a copy of a Hytech header, it's not exact but the length is, so you could use a 2.5" cat and exhaust from either Hytech or SMSP or a custom built exhaust (or cut some of the length of some other kind off) and i'm sure you'd pass an emissions test.

hmm. sounds good !
ok i was reading another thread it metion about something u have to cut or remove transmission block (or something i dont remember) for JDM header.
so that's say if i buy a toda header and get a custom cat from car sound or sms for fit my USDM mugen exhuast will it bolt on my car without problem ?

Ok . . .

* Comptech Race Header will NOT work with a cat and unmodified (Stock length) exhaust.

* You can cut your B-pipe down to accommodate a Cat if you want.

* Hytech used to (and might still) require cutting the block guard. SMSP seems to have redesigned to handle this issue and Comptech has addressed this issue as well. Toda doesn't require this cutting either.

* No cat will not significantly increase exhaust volume but will alter slightly.

* Here is the adapter. It is much shorter than any cat I am aware of.

I`m running a CAT w/ my Comptech Full Race Header. I just replace it with a test pipe if need be. I built a custom 2.5" exhaust for it, obviously the stocker will not work as the header is much longer than stock.

has anyone tried to run this header and mate it directly to a DX midpipe????? would that work...since i heard dx midpipes were shorter ...and mate it to your own choice of axleback?
