I really like the feel of the Sparco Evo, and am planning on buying one for my GSR to auto-x and HPDE in.
My only concern to getting the seat is how high or low it sits compared to stock. I am a fairly tall person for a japanese car I guess (6 ft 1) and my helmet already is resting against the roofline in the stock seats.
If I buy the sparco brackets that bolt to the Evo, will it sit lower than the stock setup? And if so, how much lower, because I need to get my helmet below the level of my rollbar.
I saw many ITR owners at the Expo with Evo/Evo2's, so I thought this was the best place to ask, any help is much appreciated.
Thanks again,
JP

suck sparco suck bottom suck brackets suck suck. do you sense my opinion? i dunno how they can offer those pieces of **** for sale to the public
the seats
the sidemounts
the slider
, but as far as bottom brackets, i would rather be sitting on a milk crate. it's probably safer anyway.
best bet is to get the seat, side mounts ans rails (if applicable) and find a local fabricator to make you up a bracket. that way you can tailor it to your needs. good luck.

That's what I did. I saw the custom bracket you made, not bad, not bad at all.

I was under the impression that with the competition seats from Sparco that you only use the sidemount brackets to mount the seats, and that is all. I don't think sliders are very well accepted for use with their competition seats, or any for that matter.
Anyone who owns the seats? What all do you need to mount them? Just the sidemounts? And how do they sit?
Thanks,
JP

i have a set of sparco "rev" seats in my car and when i did the install i noticed the seat was bout a half an inch to touching the ceiling so there was NO way to wear a helmet for auto-x, so i took the sliders and brackets away and used the side mount brackets and mounted it to my everyday driving position and now there is plenty of room, and another thing with the side mounts you can raise or lower the height of the seats.

I have an EVO2 and was at the Expo.
It's on Sparco rails and sliders.
and a custom base bracket fabbed together by "rodney" himself from a new Wedge engineering base bracket.
I have no head/height issues., I am 5'10" and very obviously comfortably married.
The Sparco rails and sliders are fine, the Sparco base bracket serves a better purpose for me to practice welding on than as what Sparco claims it is actually for. Nuff said...
I have no idea how much lower or higher the EVO2 sits than stock, I'd guess that it is NOT lower than stock (with the sliders) though. I feel extremely comfortable and have no issues.
Good luck.

Ditto, I'm 5'11" and my Evo was too high with the Sparco mount -- WAY to high with the sliders as well. Custom mount is really the only way to go.

So are you guys saying that they were way too high, are you using the base mounts and sliders, or are you using the side mounts that are seen on the following link:
http://www.sparcousa.com/pseat...d=370
It just looks like you can set the height of the seat on these side mount brackets how low you want, and be done with it.
?????
Thanks,
JP

a novel idea!
i welded 1/8" thick metal stock onto the basemount and drilled holes as needed. i don't use the slider and the seat height is roughly 0.5-1" lower - perfect!

Thats exactly what I had in mind since I'm somewhat of a tall person. So with the use of the side mounts that I posted in the link above you were able to get the seat low enough to have your head below your rollbar that I assume you have?
I just want to make sure I order the right parts that I need to get the seat mounted once it gets here and not have to return any parts.
Thanks George,
JP

So, if you buy the (overpriced) sparco slider, everything does fit as it is supposed to?
I'm 5'8" and as long as the seating position were no higher than stock, i could use this option (besides i like my sliding seats
)

So let me get this straight.... (cause i will probably purchase an EVO over an SPG, $ issue) I need:
Sparco Evo seat
Seat Base
Seat base Adapter
Side Mount
Slider
Or is it sliders or side mount? one or the other..

Assuming you get the seat already, you'll need the rails for certain, then "if" you want the sliding adjustability you can get their sliders, but you will need a "GOOD" base bracket and the one that Sparco sells/provides does Not qualify as anything close to "Good."
The best bet for a base bracket, is from Wedge Engineering or have a custom one fabbed up.
