Default Which header would work best with my Comptech...

Which header would work best with my Comptech cat back exhaust? I'm asking what you guys think because I've always planning on buying a high flow cat and just getting the comptech 4-2-1 header. Since it's 2.25 it would be a perfect match for the comptech exhaust on the car. The thing is I really like the DC Sports JDM 4-1 header. Problem is it's 2.5

Question is would the bottleneck of .25 of an inch be that big of a problem where I would lose ANY horepower or Tq? The flange of the comptech header is only 2 inches I believe even though the header is 2.25. So, in a sence it also will create a bottle neck anyways. Also, it puts out a good amount of power for a header as far as the "great header test" is considered.

I don't plan on getting rid of the exhaust because I love it and don't plan on going turbo or supercharged. Save that for my second project car I hope to have this summer.

Should I just get the high flow with the Comptech header or get the JDM DC Sports 4-1?

Get a header with a 2.25" collector and then get a 2.25" Carsound/Magnaflow high-flow cat. Do it as a package for maximum power.

Getting the 2.5" header then stepping down to a 2.25" exhaust would be a stupid move.

I don't think they make a header with a 2.25" collector. Stick with the Comptech header. You don't need more than that.

You need to be pushing a lot of power out of your car to get any benefits from a 2.5 diameter exhaust. If you only have bolt ons, it will only make you lose power, get the 2.25, comptech knows what they are doing and you will prob put down more on a dyno than someone with a 2.5.

yup, only 2" collector unless you want to get one custom made.

And don't bother getting anything with a 2.5" collector or larger unless you want to get a new catback as well.

So I'll need to get a custom cat made since the comptech has a 2" collector?

No. The 2" collector will be fine.

So, just getting a 2.25 cat would do?

If you are going to just do mild bolt-ons then by all means get the comptech 4-2-1. Relatively inexpensive, performs well, and practical for daily driving. If you are gonna be doing high power na or fi you would want something a lot bigger like a 2.5" set up all the way from collector to muffler.

Yeah. IM SMSP for the cat. You have the exact setup I will probably go with eventually, but I might get a Super Hyper Medallion instead. Good luck!
