What goes on the armrest?
I recently finished my 98 TYpeR theft recovery, and was wounding what configuration of numbers that I get ingraved on the armrest badge? Also, from the VIN# How do I determine what number mine is?
Thanks
Thanks
I agree. Most ITR owners should know their number. Hell, it's a limited edition car.
As George said, call the dealer, hopefully they can help you out.
Worst comes to worst, just call your call "-1"

he probably bought it as a stolen recovery, where the insurance already paid the original owner and he didn't want to buy it back.
If that's the case, it will be very hard for him to find the original #. I don't think the dealerships would even care or bother to note the number...
You can try, but I think that you are wasting your time to find this out. But then again, honda may be able to tell you.

typer98, it's about $80 list for a regular GS-R arm-rest lid from Acura. It's damn expensive. Unless you must have another ITR arm-rest lid, I suggest you go to a wrech yard and find one for cheap.
I have first hand experience with this thanks to the help of another board member here. When my g/f and I purchased our PY ITR in May, the a$$hole salesman tells us that the shift **** and # plate were stolen at the port. I didn't trust the guy enough to get me the correct Type R production number so I called Acura Client Services.
I gave them the VIN and they had to contact Japan. 2 1/2 weeks later, they advised me what number was assigned to the car. If one of the representatives tells you it's part of the VIN, call back and speak with another representative. The first guy I talked to had no clue, then I spoke with another guy who was extremely helpful and emailed Honda of Japan. Hope this helps.

cmon guys. My number is engraved on the front of the Block. If your engine was stolen it might be a little hard. but its right above the serial number.
Dont't listen to any of this Jargon. Take your registration or title to Acura and they WILL provide you with your cars serial#. Very easy to do. My friend did it for his T/R '97 ITR. I love how everyone comments without even knowing what the f*ck they are rambling. Any Acura dealer HAS TO give you your serial# and they will charge you a few bucks for a new #plate that takes about 4 weeks to get from Japan! Cheeesh, enough with the "assumptions"!
H-Pimp,
Settle down man. When I bought the car there was no friggin number on the plate. The dealer put a blank plate in its place hoping we wouldn't know the difference. The dealership that I bought the car from was very untruthful about many things on the car, so I did not trust them to get the number for me. Calling Corporate Acura was the best bet. They got the number directly from Japan. I am not rambling or making assumptions. This was a first hand experience, not something that happened to a friend of a friend of a brother's roommate. No flame intended, I just don't understand your reply.

Easy there, I had skipped your reply and didn't even read it. I was replying to the dudes that are like, "It's impossible" and "You'll never find the #" comments. As if his R was dam'ned to be a bastard-child numberless ITR. Sorry for overlooking your post.
Heh...someday. Im headed for my brown belt in about a year so maybe then.
JK when I get down to DC for school I could take a drive out to PA or somewhere around there. After all the posting we've done it might be fun. If it's not too late in the year maybe I'll roll to an autox with you guys.
